I hope to spread the love of Belly Dance to all students who attend class, as a fun alternative to the gym, raising self esteem and positive body image regardless of size or age, Belly Dance has many health benefits, increasing fitness, memory and co-ordination, it is a low impact exercise, gentle on joints and bones, suitable for all levels of fitness and age.
I strongly believe in the healing power of dance, from a Woman's ability to connect to her body and learn to love it for what it can do and how it feels with movement and expression, rather than based on looks. The movements of Belly-dance tap in to the Meridian lines where energies and stresses are stored, releasing them, giving us an emotional healing each time we dance. Many dancers report feelings of an emotional high and extreme sense of well being.
Mix this with the abundance of cultural history of the dance, and the beautiful costumes, veils, wings and other props, this activity really is a woman's dream.
I work hard to ensure classes are a safe, non judgmental and encouraging environment, for students to learn and share the passion of their art.
Performances may be booked for Private events such as Weddings or Birthdays, Hen nights, etc. We are also available for community events, Carnivals, dance exhibitions, Cultural events, Schools etc. We will always choose appropriate costume and performance style for the audience, so please contact us directly to discuss your requirements. You can have solo or group performance, and performance only or audience participation. We hope you enjoy. x
